CYG: Day 20: Charity

I like today's project even though I don't have a picture...
Day 20. Charity/Organization Share your favourite charity or organization that has touched your heart on this road of grief. If you don’t have a photograph to share, just simply post the link to their website!
There are far too many to even begin to try to find pictures, but I will link and talk about each one...

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep - If not for this organization, I wouldn't have pictures of Andrew without all his tubes.  I wouldn't have pictures of his face since he was wearing a mask under the bili light for so long.  I even have some beautiful pictures of Sammy, too.  I cannot say how thankful I am for these.  They mean so very much to me.  I hope some day that I can have the courage and ability to volunteer for this organization.  I know I emotionally am NOT there yet, but I plan to continue to work toward this goal.

CHaD - The Children's Hospital at Dartmouth and the ICN are extremely dear to our hearts.  If not for this hospital and the services they provide, we wouldn't have had what time we did with the boys.  The doctors, nurses, and staff of CHaD will forever be in my heart for providing us that special time with each of our boys.

Tomorrow is the CHaD Hero Half.  My friends Mandy and Dianne will be running the 5k and the half in honor of the boys.  I'm so flattered that they chose to run in honor of my beautiful boys.  I can never say thank you enough to these two wonderful ladies. :)  My goal is to train to run the half myself in honor of the boys next year...now I just have to get started!!

The North Country Public Safety Foundation did some wonderful things for us during this time.  They are an organization I didn't even really know about until they helped us.  What they did for us, however, took such a load off and made our lives so much easier during such a difficult time.  They, unlike CHaD, are a newer charity that doesn't have the established events.  A high school friend of mine passed away recently and the organization helped him and his family tremendously.  I hope that I can help this organization have annual fundraisers to be able to help more people in the future.  Another goal of mine!

Lastly, there's no forgetting the March of Dimes.  The research performed by this organization helps so many families bring their beautiful preemies home.  It also is an organization that helps research premature birth.  I'm hoping someday they will discover why my boys were born so early.  By raising money for this organization, maybe I can help more people get to bring their little ones home, but also help other women avoid premature birth.  I will be walking the local March of Dimes walks in honor of the boys next year.

Lots of goals to help other people, but right now I'm focusing on me...soon I will be in a spot to help others, I hope.
