Day 18. Your Family Portrait Take a photo of you with your family, work out a way to incorporate your baby/ies/child/ren who are no longer physically with you anymore. You could hold up photos of them or even just hold their names with you. What does your family look like now? Is it just you left here? Do you have a large family? Is it just you and your partner?
I didn't realize this was the project and my fairly photo-shy husband wouldn't necessarily have gotten in on this one with me anyways. As a result, I don't have a now family photo to share. But I do like these projects because I feel as though it is a way for me to talk about things going on rather than just take pictures. I understand the concept of taking pictures as a way to show things in my life related to my loss, but I like that it gives me good talking points, too!
I have to say that although we were offered to have a picture of the two boys taken together, I didn't want to. Sammy was so sick and Andrew had passed away. It didn't feel right. We don't have a family photo of the four of us while the boys were still alive. We do, however, (sort of) have pictures of us as a family with each of the boys separately. I haven't shared these pictures with many people and the picture of Andrew's little toes below is the first time I have shared it at all...
