1. What are your hopes for 2013?
To find a way to honor my sons, whether through charity work or a memorial or something. I haven't determined what it will be yet.

2.
What is your favorite quote or motto to live by?
"And once the storm is over you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, in fact, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain: When you come out of the storm you won't be the same person who walked in."
3. What is your favorite dessert?
Cake. My gram's carrot cake and maraschino cherry cake are two of my favorites. And I'm also a sucker for grocery store cakes...yellow cake with the super sweet frosting.
4. Through your grief process, what organizations have helped you most?
Forever My Sweet Pea, I Am a Mother to an Angel, CarlyMarie Project Heal
5. What hobby do you participate in most often?
Crafting. Right now, specifically crocheting.
6. What is your favorite television show?
Private Practice
7. Describe your perfect Saturday.
Spending the day watching movies cuddled on the couch with my hubby and animals...with a bowl of popcorn, beers, and pizza. Not having to get dressed or leave the house...not having to clean the house or do anything except relax and enjoy being together.
8. If you could change professions, would you? If not, why? If you would, what would you become and why?
Oh man, this is a kicker...I love my job. I love HR for a reason. BUT, that being said, I really want to get my Master's. I've been seriously considering pursuing a MSc in Mental Health Counseling lately. Still trying to figure out all the details. I've started to notice that there is a serious lack of mental health resources available and that those that are available are extraordinarily unaffordable for people that really need it. My goal would be to be a resource for mental health care that is an affordable option for people that need help. Though I'd really like to focus on grief counseling....
9. Where do you spend most of your time online? What is the attraction?
Blogs and Pinterest. Blogs help me cope with the situation I'm currently finding myself in. They make me feel a little less crazy and a little more normal. And then of course typing my own blog up helps me have a release. Pinterest is just a mindless distraction from life.
10. If you won a trip to any place in the world and you had to leave tomorrow where would you go and who would you take with you?
Australia with my husband.
11. Why do you blog?
It is my release...my personal form of therapy. It is my way of connecting when I feel so disconnected from life. It's my way of sharing my personal thoughts and still being able to keep a happy face on the rest of the time. It's my way of showing that despite the smile on my face when others are around, I'm still a horrible mess inside.
My questions:
1. What has been your biggest challenge in the past year and how did/are you overcoming it?
2. If you could choose any job in the world, what would it be and why?
3. Do you have pets? What are their names and species? If not, what would pet would you like and why?
4. What is your comfort food?
5. Who is the most influential person in your life (No celebrities!)? Why did they have such an impact on you?
6. What is your favorite flower?
7. If you could freeze one moment in time, what would it be?
8. When you were little what did you "want to be when you grow up"?
9. Name 3 things on your bucket list.
10. What is your favorite fairytale story and why?
11. What are the best and worst things about sharing your life on your blog?

I crochet too....it's the idea behind the non profit in memory if my son.....Avery's Mommy sent me here!
ReplyDeleteI'm in HR too! I love it but since losing Avery I don't think it's my passion anymore. :( I'd love to go into counseling but after already receiving my Masters and te student loans that go with that, I'm not sure it's feasible.
ReplyDeleteI have a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Human Resource & General Business Management. I was applying for an MBA in Org Psychology until I got pregnant. I don't have student loans yet, so I might actually be able to justify going back to school.....
