I realized that since I've been on vacation this week, I never came back to write about our March for Babies event last weekend. March for Babies is an event that is done throughout the nation. Our event was at the hospital where our boys lived for their short lives. It was rain or shine and although it was threatening rain, it held off until after our walk...and even after our family barbecue!
Our team was amazing. No one backed out because of the threat of rain and our team all showed up. I ordered 66 t-shirts from Squegee Printers (thank you, Pat!!!!) that were designed by my amazing brother-in-law.

We had well over 50 people walk with us...of all ages. It was absolutely amazing. And to top it off, as of the morning of the walk, we had raised $6,600 online. From my estimation, another $400-500 was turned in, bringing our total well over $7,000. That is over $2,000 more than our goal!! I am so happy with this outcome. It is proof of the amazing, amazing things that my boys and Kristy's girls are doing. Of what our family and friends are doing in their memory. Thank you to everyone who helped us meet our goal. I can't say enough thank yous.

We had a barbecue at Cam's parents after the walk and the rain held off just long enough. It gave us an opportunity to spend some time with our grandparents and family that could not walk with us. I made cupcakes...I haven't quite made it to Martha Stewart status...these are out of a box...but it works. :)

It was emotional. I got home after the walk and was emotional. Overwhelmed. The amazing feeling. But at the same time...this thing I had been looking forward to...to distract me...it was over. I told myself I had made plenty of plans as distraction, but I'm starting to feel this overwhelming sense of let down...like when you plan a vacation for a year and then it flies by and you feel like it's over in the blink of an eye. I needed that day to last longer...but it's okay. There are other things...I just need to find a way to incorporate those things and keep moving forward. That's all there is to do...and there are two little boys that I know want their mommy and daddy to be happy...and I know that they will eventually have a little sister or brother...it's just my impatience that is making it hard...
And a few more pictures of our day...
